What Emma Wore

Dress Guide

The Dress
Recreating Emma's dress can be done 2 ways. The first is to find a long black dress (or any one color dress) that has embellishment around the neck meeting in the center of the bust. If you can find one with flower applique that's awesome, but anything will do. The other way is to just buy a plain black gown and get a very large necklace that will form the illusion that it is connected to the dress. Whichever way you go you are sure to please in this elegant outfit!

The Jacket
Emma's Jacket is a black double breasted coat from the designer Milly, that jacket is no longer available so to find one similar look for a double breasted jacket in black. You want to find one that has a dark grey/black pattern on it, so that from far away it looks black but when you get close you can see the detail.

The Shoes
To get Emma's shoes you want to look for a pair of high, round toed black pumps. You want the toe to be as rounded as possible to match Emma's. They can be any material, but Emma's appear to be suede, with no pattern. So keep it black and simple and you've got it!

The Other Stuff
Emma wore a black bracelet with studs on it, hers went around her wrist a few times but you can just use any black studded bracelet you can find. Emma wore a very large statement ring with a HUGE stone on it. The example below is a great steal, its Marc Jacobs but if you buy it at his store it will only cost $12. As for her clutch, you want to find one with a diamond pattern and if you can find one make it very rounded and metal. But fabric will work if you can't find a metal clutch.

Hair & Make-Up Guide

Make Up
The look: A fresh face and shimmery gold lids.
Start by applying a coat of liquid foundation (Dermalogica Treatment Foundation) to your skin in a matching tone. Set with a light dusting of face powder (Urban Decay Surreal Skin Universal Mineral Powder) or sheer finish loose powder. Rub a shimmery nude eyeshadow (MAC Eyeshadow in Rice Paper) over your eyelids, in the corners of your eyes, and below your bottom lash line. Line your top lids with a thick line of shimmery gold eyeliner (Lanc™me Le Crayon Kh™l in Golden Blaze). Apply a thin line of black eyeliner (Physicians Formula Eye Definer Flat Automatic Eyeliner Pencil) on bottom eyelids. Curl eyelashes and apply two coats of black mascara (Kanebo 38ˇC Mascara in Black). Line your lips with rose-colored lip liner (Chanel Crayon LŹvres Precision Lip Definer in Tawney) and finish by applying a coat of cream lipstick (Chanel Rouge Allure Laque Luminous Satin Lip Lacquer in Santal).

Hair
The hairstyle: An elegant, braided updo.
Part your hair slightly off-center and straighten it in layers. Take a small section of hair on one side and braid it, securing with a small elastic; repeat on the opposite side. These sections should start about two inches up from both ears. Leave these braids alone until finished with all steps. Divide your hair into two equal parts in the back. Cross these sections over each other and loosely roll them in, pinning the ends down against your head. The result should be a looped bun across the length of your head. Take the two braids and pin them across the top of bun. Secure your hair with bobby pins to make sure it won't budge, and feel free to accessorize. Set everything with hairspray.
