CBS The Early Show Appearance 2009
What Emma Wore

Emma looked very pretty and patriotic (or whatever the word is for Brits) for her interview on the Early Show promoting Half-Blood Prince. She wore a flowing long-sleeve red dress and carried a British Flag bag by Chanel, a Russian Doll necklace and black sandals. You can recreate this look to pay homage to your own country or go the British way like Emma did.

Hair & Make-Up Guide

Make Up
The look: A glowing complexion.
Start by applying a coat of liquid foundation (Dermalogica Treatment Foundation) to your skin in a matching tone. Set with a light dusting of face powder (Urban Decay Surreal Skin Universal Mineral Powder) or sheer finish loose powder. Dust a peachy blush (NARS Blush in Amour) on the apples of your cheeks, sweeping up along your hairline. Rub a shimmery nude eyeshadow (MAC Eyeshadow in Rice Paper) over your eyelids, in the corners of your eyes, and below your bottom lash line. Curl eyelashes and apply two coats of black mascara (Kanebo 38°C Mascara in Black). Line your lips with rose-colored lip liner (Chanel Crayon Lèvres Precision Lip Definer in Tawney) and finish by applying a coat of cream lipstick (Chanel Aqualumière Sheer Colour Lipshine SPF 15 in Maldives).
Hair
The hairstyle: Tussled, beachy waves.
Part your hair on the left side and straighten it in layers. Separate your hair into three sections, securing each section with an elastic band (it will be easier to curl your hair this way). To curl your hair, use a wide-barrel curling iron. Starting with one section, take a one-inch portion of hair and spritz it with styling spray or hairspray. Wrap hair around the barrel of the curling iron; make sure to leave ends loose to avoid a crimp mark. Release the curl after about 5-10 seconds – you should have a corkscrew curl. Repeat these steps on the other two sections. Once finished, let your hair down and run your hands through to break up the curls. Shake your hair upside down, then gently rub your scalp to tone the curls down into loose waves. Set everything with hairspray.
